Mogadishu (MFASomalia) – On 18 January 2018, The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Amb. Ahmed Isse Awad, received at his office a Dutch delegation headed by the Director of the Sub-Saharan Africa Department at the at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Alle Dorhout, and spoke with him on means of enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation.

During the meeting, Amb. Ahmed Awad welcomed the Dutch delegation, praising the solid relations between Somalia and the Netherlands, stressing that Somalia is keen to strengthen the friendly relations and cooperation between the two friendly countries at all levels to achieve the aspirations of both countries and friendly peoples.

For his part, Mr. Alle Dorhout highlighted the depth of historical relations between the two countries, declaring that the Netherlands will strengthen its cooperation with Somalia in several fields to reach prosperity and development.

The meeting also discussed regional and international developments.

The meeting was attended by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Amb. Ali Mohamed Ali and some of the Department Directors of the Ministry, as well as the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Somalia, Mr. Frans Makken.
